Hi Wayne, Thanks again for a great PNG adventure. One is often advised never to go back & do what they have done before, as it can never live up to the first time experience. I can tell you THEY ARE WRONG!! This Mountains to Musa trek was as good as and in many ways better than last year. Yes, we basically followed in the same route and saw the same rivers, mountains and vistas, but this was only a small part of the experience. Returning to the school at Moreguina, the events at Yanu Station, McKenzie Snake camp, a might python, the Mutineers, the strength of the Buna boys, our lazy rest days, beautiful Yauri Village, delicious wallaby, the injuries of a 14 year old boy from a Boar, the Moni River crossing on Banana palm rafts, the outlook at Sue Fitcher Lookout, the slog up to Naora, the hassle and frustration that is PNG at the lookout over Embessa, the 10 hours down the mighty Musa River, the welcome at Foru 2 village, the speedy trip across the Solomon Sea to Oro Bay and the wonderful breakfast provided, the relaxation after the journey on Loloata Island and to cap it off another snake experience. This all added up to another most remarkable trek. You always controlled the situation and minimised the potential dangers, and at the same time allowed us to experience some of the rawness and beauty of PNG. Please keep on doing what you do so well. I will be back for more.
