Born and raised in Melbourne’s outer east, Laurie grew up with a passion for playing footy, water skiing and cars.
After a knee injury cut short his football and basketball activities, Laurie turns his talents to coaching at junior levels and enjoyed teaching his young charges not only sporting skills but the life skills that inevitably follow.
Cycling and hiking replaced his earlier team sports and Laurie has managed to balance this love of outdoors with running a successful transport business.
Having enjoyed the experience of the Anzac 2009 trek, Laurie decided his next challenge in life was to join Getaway Trekking as a leader and help people get fit for their trekking adventures.
Having recently completed another PNG trek (Kapa Kapa), and obtained his international Wildernes First Aid accreditation, Laurie is keen to help people experience the wonderful world out there!
