As a young lad Peter Gamgee whet his appetite for outdoor adventure at what was then literally his back door – scaling all sides of the Glasshouse Mountains in Queensland at all times of the day and night! Since then he has gone on to enjoy a military and professional career whilst always having a passion for sports (accredited squash coach) and trekking related activity.
Peter has trekked Nepal (Mera Peak summit attempt, Everest Base Camp Track), PNG (Kokoda Trail and Owen Stanleys – Mountains & Musa Trek), New Zealand (Mt Ruapeu circuit track), France/Spain (The Pyrennes mountains), Vietnam (Remote villages SE of Hanoi) and locally – Queensland (SE corner, Mt Barney, Mt Lindsay, Glasshouse Mountains, around Mt Isa), Victoria (High Country), Tasmania Central & Maria Island), Central Australia (McDonald Ranges & beyond) – to mention a few!
Peter has an unquenched passion for exploring remote and interesting areas and for leading people to achieve more than they thought was possible – whether in business, or a trekking adventure!
Wilderness First Aid qualified, Peter’s engineering and farming background are also very useful when you have to make-do on the track and in remote areas!
