The Kokoda Trail had a significant impact on Sue, before she had even set foot on PNG soil! After participating in the 2006 Anzac Kokoda Trek, Sue’s husband Wayne returned home to announce his departure from the family business in favour of the opportunity to work with Getaway Trekking. Sue continued to run the family business until mid 2007, when she also joined the Getaway team.
Clocking up just over 30 years in the financial services industry and 12 years as a business owner, Sue has significant business experience to draw on in managing Getaway Trekking’s growth. Working predominantly on the business management, Sue also enjoys using her many years of trekking experience when leading groups on treks in some of the most beautiful and diverse tracks and regions in the world.
Sue particularly enjoys trekking the Kokoda Trail. Whether her groups comprise corporates, family or some of the all women groups she has led, Sue loves to show off this magnificent country and its people. She particularly enjoys the relationships that develop along the track between trekkers and our magnificent current day Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels.
